This year has brought rapid change—across our nation, our city, and right here in Georgetown. The Citizens Association of Georgetown (CAG) has remained focused on monitoring, responding, and advocating for residents’ voices to be heard on issues that impact us.
Our neighborhood is facing serious threats to its historical integrity with the dismissal of the entire U.S. Commission of Fine Arts (CFA)—the body that oversees the Old Georgetown Board (OGB)—coupled with attempts by the District to draft exceptions that bypass OGB review. At the same time, the city is proposing zoning changes that could significantly reshape the design and planning process. We continue to stay on top of these and other issues such as the strategies, rodent control, trash management, public safety, sidewalk repairs, DC Water’s lead pipe replacement, and long-term projects. I will follow up with more details about the work CAG is undertaking on your behalf. Beyond advocacy, we look forward to gathering as a community at our upcoming events. Please join us and take the opportunity to reconnect with your neighbors.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we extend our heartfelt thanks to every donor, volunteer, and community member who helps make Georgetown safe, beautiful, and connected.
